DentalMonitoring develops an AI-powered platform for remote monitoring of orthodontic treatments. Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Paris, the company analyses smartphone images to track treatment progress, flag issues between appointments and streamline clinical workflows. Its software detects more than 130 oral observations from patient-submitted photographs and reports them to dental professionals.
The product suite comprises the DentalMonitoring Intelligent Platform, the Patient App through which individuals capture images of their treatment, and ScanBox Pro, a hardware device used to take intraoral smartphone photographs. The company reports that its proprietary AI has processed more than half a billion patient photographs, monitoring over 2m patients for more than 8,000 dental professionals across 50 countries. Clinics using the platform report up to 40% fewer in-office visits alongside two to three times as many patient touchpoints.
From a regulatory standpoint, DentalMonitoring holds the first and only FDA De Novo approval and EU-MDR certification for a Software as a Medical Device in orthodontics.
